Since 2002, the FBI Cyber Division has not only responded to and investigated cyber incidents but also worked with the private sector to prevent them. Supervisory Special Agent Rich Murray from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and leader of the Dallas office cyber squad, along with Chief Information Security Officer David Bell of American Airlines, will discuss the current threat landscape and how they maintain a working relationship. Alain Espinosa, Sr. BISO of Rent-A-Center, former InfraGard National board member and current North Texas InfraGard advisor, will also moderate and join the discussion highlighting how InfraGard connects the FBI to the private sector and multiple resources in which InfraGard plays a significant role.

David Bell has over 20 years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically in enterprise infrastructure and security systems. Currently he is the Chief Information Security officer at American Airlines.
Rich Murray

Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Richard Murray manages the FBI Dallas Cyber Task
Force (CTF), a multi-disciplinary team of Special Agents, Analysts, Computer Scientists, Task
Force Officers, and Forensic Accountant. The FBI Dallas CTF is responsible for investigating
criminal and financially motivated computer intrusions, including ransomware attacks and data
breach incidents. Mr. Murray regularly engages with private and public sector partners to
increase cyber threat awareness, facilitate preparation in advance of cyber-attacks, and work
with organizations who are handling cyber incidents.
Mr. Murray became an FBI Special Agent in 1999 and has worked drug trafficking, public
corruption, white collar crime, and cyber investigations. In addition to these field investigative
assignments, Mr. Murray served as a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) at FBIHQ Cyber
Division. In this position, Mr. Murray provided guidance, leadership, and oversight to FBI Cyber
Agents assigned overseas to facilitate information sharing, increase cooperation on computer
intrusion investigations and improve collaborative relationships with foreign partners.
Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Murray was a Member of the Technical Staff for a cleared defense
contractor. Mr. Murray holds a BS in Mathematics and an MBA with a focus on Technology,
Science and Engineering. Mr. Murray holds the CISSP and other widely recognized cyber
certifications. Mr. Murray speaks frequently on active and emerging cyber threats.
Alain Espinosa

Alain leverages his 20+ years as a cybersecurity and IT professional to systematically reduce risk in organizations by developing and implementing innovative enterprise security programs. His experience spans a range of industries and includes global companies such as Google and Siemens.
Currently, Alain is the Sr. Business Information Security Officer at Rent-A-Center. In this role, he works with company leaders to assess cyber risk and ensure the security of critical information assets and IT operations across business units.
Alain is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). He is also a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s CISO Program and the FBI’s CISO Academy.
Alain is a former Board Director for InfraGard, a national nonprofit organization that partners with the FBI to secure critical national infrastructure. During his tenure, he helped oversee the governance of 77 chapters with over 70,000 members.
Alain has been featured on NBC News, speaking about security threats and countermeasures. Additionally, he has written for multiple publications on cybersecurity topics and has presented as a keynote speaker at conferences across the country.
