 entation will provide basic statistics\, information\, and skills to incre
 ase confidence when working with individuals who exhibit a mental health c
 risis. Participants will be introduced to the Recognize\, Redirect\, and R
 estore model.\n\nAbout our Speaker\nLieutenant Kimberly L. Harris – M.Ed
 \; NCC\; LPC is the Mental Health and Community Advocacy Commander at the 
 Arlington Texas Police Department. She serves as the department’s subjec
 t matter expert on behavioral health topics and training. Kimberly is a ne
 gotiator and psychological consultant for SWAT. Her law enforcement journe
 y of 21 years includes supervisory positions within Victim Services\, Inte
 rnal Affairs\, the Jail\, Crash Investigation\, and Patrol Operations as a
  Field Training Officer. Kimberly has led the department in law enforcemen
 t response to behavioral health crisis since 2012 when she established a C
 o.Responder program to address gaps within the various county mental healt
 h services. She has developed training\, policy\, and forms to enhance kno
 wledge and skills in the areas of behavioral health and crisis interventio
 n towards a best practice outcome.\n\nKimberly received her bachelor’s f
 rom Oklahoma City University in Psychology. From there she studied at the 
 University of North Texas and graduated with a master’s in Counseling Ed
 ucation with a focus on community behavioral health\, specializing in seve
 re mental health issues. She is currently a licensed counselor for the Sta
 te of Texas and also holds a National Counseling Certification. She's a TC
 OLE instructor\, has a Master Peace Officer designation\, and has served o
 n the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.\n\nHer prior career experi
 ence in the behavioral health field includes positions within inpatient ps
 ychiatric settings\, community mental health agencies\, and private practi
 ce. She specializes in crisis intervention\, serious behavioral health cou
 nseling and solution focused therapy.
