Critical Infrastructure Sectors
Critical infrastructure is the backbone of our nation's economy, security and health. We know it as the power we use in our homes, the water we drink, the transportation that moves us, and the communication systems we rely on to stay in touch with friends and family. Critical infrastructure are the assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof.
Sector Chief Program
In the race to protect the nation’s critical infrastructures and key resources (CIKR) from various threats, expediting information exchange between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), its partnering agencies, and the private sector is a front-line imperative. InfraGard's Sector Chief Program (SCP) escalates communication across the organization by enlisting industry’s top subject matter experts as liaisons to facilitate information sharing and communication between the FBI and local InfraGard Members Alliances (IMAs). This added exchange fuels the ability of the FBI and government partners to address threats to the 16 recognized sectors of the nation’s critical infrastructure.
